Stormriders AGM – 21Mar10



Stormriders AGM is scheduled to take place on Sunday 21Mar2010 @ Jimmy’s Beach, Hawks Nest, aprox 10am.
Agenda items:
Vote in the committee.

President: Required (Chris Ting would like to step down.)
Vice President: Required
Secretary / Treasurer: Brett Morris is happy to stay on in these positions.
Public Officer: Brett Morris is happy to stay on in this position.
Other: Race Committee

Items for Discussion:
Number of events: Is 8 too many.
Formula vs Slalom, Do we continue with the multiply discipline format?
Slalom logistics: How to have and run better quality of racing for both the competitors and RO.
Scoring: Is the current format fair or too biased towards one discipline.
Increasing participation: How?
General issues/ideas:

    Good point….I was just going to let people have a sleep in as the prize giving was the night before, and there is usually no wind in the morning… I’ll amend it to 10am.. cheers

    weather permitting there will be….from memory we had 3 perfect races last year…

    Isn’t it normal practice for a club to hold an AGM closer to the end of the financial year?

    Storm-riders is based in Sydney, wouldn’t it be better for the AGM to be held in Sydney so that all members can attend?

    Normal practice is for those who aspire to mediocrity.
    StormRiders aspire to greater things, and hence spurn “normal practice” and replace it with “Getting it done” instead.

    It’s true normal practice would be to have the AGM in Sydney.

    However we beleive there would be more active Storm Riders club members at Hawks Nest this weekend, then would attend an AGM held in Sydney mid winter.
