Stormriders AGM is scheduled to take place on Sunday 21Mar2010 @ Jimmy’s Beach, Hawks Nest, aprox 10am.
Agenda items:
Vote in the committee.

President: Required (Chris Ting would like to step down.)
Vice President: Required
Secretary / Treasurer: Brett Morris is happy to stay on in these positions.
Public Officer: Brett Morris is happy to stay on in this position.

Items for Discussion:
Number of events: Is 8 too many.
Formula vs Slalom, Do we continue with the multiply discipline format?
Slalom logistics: How to have and run better quality of racing for both the competitors and RO.
Scoring: Is the current format fair or too biased towards one discipline.

NSW Windsurfing Series – Heat 3

Forty Racers, including a small fleet of BIC Techno293’s turned up for 2 days of great racing at Lake Macquarie. With 2 races on Saturday and 4 on Sunday in about 12-15 knot NE breezes, there was plenty of racing action to be had. Steve Floyd AUS-222 won the event with 3 bullets. Thanks to the organisers for such a great weekend’s racing – yet again and congratulations to the new racers who completed their 1st event…

Steve Allen AUS-0 Wins the Formula World title for the 3rd time in dramatic style, while Allison Shreeve AUS-911 is vice champion for the 2nd year in a row, losing her 1st position in an equally dramatic final gybe of the final race.

Heat 7 @ Ramsgate Beach

The final Sydney event for the 2008-09 season finished up over the weekend. After the torrential rains of Heat 6, Sydney certainly delivered perfect conditions to get us all back into Summer mode… Sam Parker still holds on to his overall season points lead, just 2.75 points ahead of Sam Fawkes and Brett Morris.

New Website? Hold On …

You may notice the website has indeed changed since yesterday; it was MUCH in need of a complete overhaul! Its about 85% finished right now, but we thought to launch it anyhow. Some of the new features will include: the ability to actually view news from the past rather than it disappearing forever; having your own Gravatar when you post a comment; more ability to search the older news by categories, tags and search function; a cleaner layout that should be more cross-browser compatible and COMING SOON – the all new Storm-Riders Classifieds and ‘confirmation from the man himself’ pending, an all-new Uncle Mike section. In the meantime, we’d appreciate your patience as we iron out the bugs!

PS. Before anyone asks… I do realise there’s a big picture of me on the frontpage! This will be changed very shortly to a different photo of a different sailor. The idea will be to have as many featured-photos of as many people I can find and it will rotate to a new image everytime you refresh the page (to be fair!). So don’t josh me about it just yet!
